Many people experience fear and anxiety when it comes to dental treatment. We want to make dental care more accessible and comfortable for all our patients, and that's why sedation is an option for your treatments, regardless of whether you are having restorative work done or it's time for your routine cleaning.
We offer three levels of sedation so we can customize your care based on your individualized needs:
- Nitrous oxide is an odorless gas that is mixed with oxygen and administered through a nasal mask worn throughout your treatment. This mild sedative takes effect immediately and wears off quickly once the mask is removed, making it the only sedation option that allows you to drive yourself home safely and carry on with your normal schedule following your appointment.
- Oral sedation provides a more moderate level of sedation. Most people don't remember their appointment afterward. Because the effect is stronger and lasts longer than nitrous, you will need a ride to and from our office.
- IV sedation provides the highest level of sedation, allowing patients to sleep during their appointment.
Throughout your sedation, we will monitor your vital signs to ensure your safety and comfort. We also bring in an anesthesiologist to assist with IV sedation. You can learn more on the sedation dentistry service page of this website.
If you feel like you would benefit from nitrous oxide or one of our other sedation options, please call our practice at (909) 822-3003 to meet with one of our skilled dentists and discuss a treatment plan.
