3-D Cone Beam (CBCT)
Our cone beam scanner allows us to place dental implants and perform a number of other procedures with a high degree of precision because we can visualize, in 3-D, not just your teeth and bone but all surrounding structures. Surprises can be fun in some situations, but not when it comes to your dental care! In addition to implant placement, we also use CBCT when extracting teeth. CBCT also plays an important role in diagnostics because it allows us to identify cysts, tumors, fractured teeth and bones, and missing root canals.
The cone beam scanner (CBCT) rotates around your head to take images safely and comfortably. These images are then available for you and your dentist to view on a chairside computer monitor. This means that your dentist can use the images to help explain the treatment plan so you can better understand your procedure and your dentist's recommendations.
