We are members of the Academy of Sports Dentistry and WinningSmiles is the official team dental office of the Ontario Reign Hockey Team.

Sports Mouth Guards

Sports guards, mouth guards and mouth protectors are different names for the same thing: a device worn over your teeth that protects them from blows to the face and head. At WinningSmiles, we believe that mouth guards are an important piece of athletic equipment for anyone participating in a sport that involves falls, body contact or flying equipment. This includes football, basketball, baseball, soccer, hockey, skateboarding, gymnastics, and mountain biking or any other activity that might result in an injury to the mouth.

Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgery

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery utilizes procedures to correct a wide spectrum of diseases, injuries and defects in the head, neck, face, jaws and the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial region. Dentures:

If you’ve lost some or all of your natural teeth, whether from periodontal disease, tooth decay or injury, dentures can replace your missing teeth and improve your smile and ability to chew. Periodontics:

Periodontics comes from the Greek words peri (meaning around) and odons (meaning tooth). Literally translated, it means the study of that which is around the tooth. Periodontology, or Periodontics, is the branch of dentistry which studies supporting structures of teeth, and diseases and conditions that affect them. The supporting tissues of the teeth are known as the periodontium, which includes the gums, the jaw bone, and the periodontal ligament which helps cushion the tooth. The doctors at WinningSmiles are committed to providing you with the latest information on the health of your teeth and gums. WinningSmiles is proud that we have a very highly trained periodontist, Caren Deeb, DDS.

Endodontics (Root Canal Therapy):

Endodontics comes from the Greek words endo (meaning within) and odons (meaning tooth). Literally translated, it means the study of that which is within the tooth. Inside each tooth is the pulp which provides nutrients and nerves to the tooth. The pulp runs like a thread down through the root. When the pulp is diseased or injured, the pulp tissue dies. If the pulp is not removed your tooth will become infected and you could lose it. After the dentist removes the pulp, the root canal is cleaned and sealed off to protect it. The endodontic specialist here at WinningSmiles is excellent at providing precise and comfortable root canal treatments. Most of the time, a root canal is a relatively simple procedure with little or no discomfort involving one to three visits. Best of all, it can save your tooth and your smile! WinningSmiles is proud that we have a very highly trained endodontist, Michael Khalil, DDS.

Migrane and Headache Relief:

A migraine or tension headache can be disabling. Sometimes the symptoms of migraines are so severe, all one can think about doing is finding a dark, quiet place to lie down. Up to 17 percent of women and 6 percent of men have experienced a migraine. In some cases, these painful headaches are preceded or accompanied by a sensory warning sign (aura), such as flashes of light, blind spots or tingling in your arm or leg. A migraine headache is also often accompanied by other signs and symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting, and extreme sensitivity to light and sound. Migraine pain can be excruciating and may incapacitate a person for hours or even days. Fortunately, management of migraine pain has improved dramatically in the last decade. The WinningSmiles dentists are proud to provide a devise called the NTI. Although it does not provide a cure for migraine headaches, it can significantly reduce your symptoms.

Digital X-rays:

WinningSmiles offers digital X-rays. Digital X-rays allow us to take X-rays of your teeth using 90% less radiation than standard dental x-rays. The X-ray images show up on our computer screen approximately 20 times larger than normal dental X-rays. You will be able to see the images clearly and with the direction of the dentist, be involved in the diagnosis process.

Conscious Sedation (Dentistry While You Sleep)

WinningSmiles is happy to provide sedation to patients who are nervous. Dr. Finazzo is certified to practice sedation by DOCS (the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation).
